1st Newport Girls’ Brigade
Located in Newport, on the Isle of Wight
Celebrating 50 years!
On the weekend of 15th-16th November, we are inviting past members, officers, helpers and anyone connected with Girls’ Brigade on the Isle of Wight to get in touch, as preparations get underway for the milestone celebrations.
About Us
We are a Christian uniformed youth organisation and meet every Wednesday evening (during term time) at Castlehold Baptist Church, Newport, Isle of Wight. We are part of Girls’ Brigade England and Wales, and as a company we turned 50 in 2025.
Our Programmes
Our programmes align with content from the Girls’ Brigade ministries, and include games, crafts, cooking, other badge work and much more.
We also do a biyearly residential trip to PGL, where the members enjoy a weekend of adventure and bonding whilst trying new exciting activities.
Age groups
n:vestigate
For 4 to 8-year-olds
n:vestigate is GB’s programme for 4 to 8-year-olds and focuses on helping children to ‘join the journey’ that is following Jesus.
n:gage
For 7 to 11-year-olds
n:gage is GB’s programme for 7 to 11-year-olds and focuses on helping them to ‘discover the adventure’ that is following Jesus.
n:counta
For 10 to 14-year-olds
n:counta is GB’s programme for 10 to 14-year-olds and focuses on helping them to meet real life head-on.
n:spire
For 13 to 18-year-olds
n:spire is GB’s programme for 13 to 18-year-olds and helps them experience challenges they set themselves.
Our leaders
We are run by a team of dedicated leaders, who believe in providing a safe, caring environment for girls to have fun. All our leaders are DBS (enhanced) checked.
